Creating a simple background for your Twitter page.

    1.    Open Photoshop (I use CS3) and create a new file.
    2.    I started with a 25px X 25px square; resolution 72, RGB, transparent
    3.    When the new file window is open hit CMD+A to select the entire canvas
    4.    Now go to 'Edit' and 'Fill'
    5.    In the Fill window select 'Pattern' for 'Use' and click on the 'Custom Pattern' option to see your pattern choices
    6.    I chose the 'gauze' pattern. Blending = Normal; Opacity = 100% --I left the 'Preserve Transparency' option Unchecked
    7.    Hit 'OK'
    8.    Hit 'CMD+D' to deselect the canvas
    9.    Double click on the layer to reveal the 'Blending Options' window
    10.    Now check -AND- select 'Color Overlay' to reveal further options
    11.    If you click on the default color (mine is red) you can then select the color of your choice. Set 'Blend Mode' to 'Overlay' I left opacity at 100%
    12.    Hit 'OK'
    13.    Now you can 'Save As' for later…I like to save the layers in either PSD or TIFF format for later use.
    14.    Go to 'File' and 'Save for Web & Devices' to save a GIF file for upload [as a repeating tiled image in your Twitter or other background].

This is a wonderful little app for that I purchased for my iPhone -it's called #FilmDirector or #SilentFilmDirector; I found by the former name on iTunes. When you open the application you're presented with the option, among others, to start the Action! After doing so you can choose which effect (from B&W, 20's Movie, 60's Home Video, Sepia, Sepia Vintage, 70's Home Video and None); Quality, Soundtrack & Video Time Scale. One can upload a video and apply the effects to already shot video. Love it...here is a short clip I shot using the application.

This is an excellent resource...

This was done with Frame X Frame by Joby - a great little app for your iPhone that allows you to record stop motion video. There are options/settings for Self-Timer, Time Lapse, Stop Motion, Tap to focus and more...addictive and a must have for the creative individual.

This is a photograph from downtown Durham, NC. You can see the above street crosswalk between buildings. This area has been converted from an old tobacco factory to upscale apartments downtown.

I really love these flowers...I wish I had remembered to get the name of these brilliant flowering plants! The colors remind me of pink, purple and yellow pastels.

Went back to Duke Gardens today; had some time to kill before the Apple Store opened -broken hard drive fix for MacBook = $$$.
